Usage
ThiscommandallowsyoutospecifyamasktoapplytoMACaddresseswhenauthenticating
usersthroughaRADIUSserver.Themostcommonuseofsignificantbitmasksisfor
authenticationofallMACaddressesforaspecificvendor.
OnswitchesusingMACauthentication,theMACaddressofauserattempting
tologinissentto
theRADIUSserveras theusername.Ifaccessisdenied,andifasignificantbitmaskhasbeen
configured(otherthan48)withthiscommand,theswitchwillapplythemaskandresendthe
maskedaddresstotheRADIUSserver.Forexample,ifa
userwithMACaddressof0016CF12
3456isdeniedaccess,anda32bitmaskhasbeenconfigured,theswitchwillapplythemaskand
resendaMACaddressof0016CF120000totheRADIUSserver.
Touseasignificantbitsmaskfor
authenticationofdevicesbyaparticularvendor,specifya24bit
mask,tomaskouteverythingexceptthevendorportionoftheMACaddress.
