BecausetheSecureStackB2andB3switcheshavedifferenthardwarearchitectures,the
functionalitysupportedbythetwoswitchtypesisdifferent.Whenthetwotypesofswitchesare
mixedinastack,thefunctionalitysupportedwillbethelowestcommondenominatoroffeatures
supportedonallplatforms.Refertothefirmware

Configuration
Common Firmware Version
MixedstackingisonlysupportedbySecureStackB2firmwareversion4.00.xxandhigher.Inorder
tomixSecureStackB3switcheswithB2switches,youmustinstalltheB2firmware(version4.00.xx
orhigher)ontheB3switch.Youcaninstall theB2firmwarefirst,withtheB3switchinstandalone
mode,oryoucanaddtheB3switchtothestackandthencopytheB2firm waretotheB3switch
usingthesetswitchcopyfwcommand(page29).AftercopyingtheB2firmwaretotheB3switch,
youmustresetthestack.
Switch Manager
ItisrecommendedthataSecureStackB3switchbemadethemanagerofamixedstack.Usetheset
switchmovemanagementcommand(page210)tochangethemanagerunit.
