2. Runtheconfigurecommandusingthedownloadedconfigfile.

Creating and saving a custom file...
1. ConfigureamoduleforroutingusingthesetroutercommandasdescribedinProcedure 3 ‐1.
2. EnabletherouterasdescribedinProcedure 3‐1andconfigureitmanually.
3. Savetheconfigurationusingthewritefilecommandasdescribedin“SavingorErasingthe
RunningConfiguration”(page 7 ‐11).

TheMatrixDFESeriesorN‐SAdeviceallowsyoutoconfigureAddressResolutionProtocol(ARP)
tableentriesandparameters.ARPisusedtoassociateIPaddresseswithMACaddresses.Once
determined,theIPaddress/MACassociationisstoredinanARPcacheforrapidretriev al.AnIP
datagramisthenencapsulated
intoalink‐layerframeandsentoverthenetwork.
UsetheproceduresinthissectiontoperformthefollowingARPtableconfigurationtasks:
• Displayingthe ARPTable
• AddingorRemovingStaticARPEntries
• DisablingorRe‐enablingProxyARPonanInterface
• AssigningaMACAddresstoanInterface

Displaying the ARP Table
Fromanyroutermode,usethiscommandtodisplayentriesintheARPtable.
show ip arp [ip-address] [vlan vlan-id] [output-modifier]
Optionaloutputmodifiersareasfollows:
• |beginip‐address—DisplaysonlyARPentriesthatbeginwiththespecifiedIPaddress.
• |excludeip‐address—ExcludesARPentriesmatchingthespecifiedIPaddress.
• |includeip‐address—IncludesARP entriesmatchingthespecifiedIPaddress.
Ifnoparameters
arespecified,allentriesintheARPtablewillbedisplayed.
