Using a Telnet Connection
OncetheMatrixDFESeries/NSAdevicehasavalidIPaddress,youcanestab lishaTelnet
sessionfromanyTCP/IPbasednodeonthenetworkasfollows.
1. Telnettothedevice’sIPaddress.
2. Enterlogin(username)andpasswordinformationinoneofthefollowingways:
–Ifthe
device’sdefaultloginandpasswordsettingshavenotbeenchanged,followthe
stepslistedinLogginginwithaDefaultUserAccountonpage 22,or
–Enteranadministrativelyconfiguredusernameandpassword.

Note: Users with Read-Write (rw) and Read-Only (ro) access can use the set password
commandtochange their own passwords. Administrators with Super User (su) access can use
the set system login command to create and change user accounts, and the set password
command to change any local account password. For more information about creating and
managing user accounts and passwords, refer to “Managing System Passwords and User
Accounts” on page 3-3.
