CLASS 1 LASER TRANSCEIVERS
The single mode interface modules use Class 1 laser transceivers.
Read the following safety information before installing or operating these modules.
TheClass1lasertransceiversuseanopticalfeedbacklooptomaintainClass1operationlimits.Thiscontrol
loopeliminatestheneedformaintenancechecksoradjustments.Theoutputisfactoryset,anddoesnotallow
anyuseradjustment.Class1Lasertransceiverscomplywiththefollowingsafetystandards:

Whenoperatingwithintheirperformancelimitations,lasertransceiveroutputmeetstheClass1accessible
emissionlimitofallthreestandards.Class1levelsoflaserradiation
arenotconsideredhazardous.
Whentheconnectorisinplace,alllaserradiationremainswithinthefiber.Themaximumamountofradiant
powerexitingthefiber(undernormalconditions)is‐12.6dBmor55x10

Removingtheopticalconnectorfromthetransceiverallowslaserradiationtoemitdirectlyfromtheoptical

Donotuseopticalinstrumentstoviewthelaseroutput.Theuseofopticalinstrumentstoviewlaser
