Syntax

Usage
Thiscommandenablesinterfaceconfigurationmodefromglobalconfigurationmode,and,ifthe
interfacehasnotpreviouslybeencreated,thiscommandcreatesanewroutinginterface.For
detailsonconfigurationmodessupportedbytheSecureStackC3deviceandtheiruses,referto
Table 14‐2in“EnablingRouterConfigurationModes”on
page 14‐3.
VLANsmustbecreatedfromtheswitchCLIbeforetheycanbeconfiguredforIProuting.For
detailsoncreatingVLANsandconfiguringthemforIP,referto“EnablingRouterConfiguration
Modes”onpage 14‐3.
EachVLANinterfacemustbeconfiguredforroutingseparatelyusingtheinterfacecommand.
To
endconfigurationononeinterfacebeforeconfiguringanother,typeexitatthecommandprompt.
Enablinginterfaceconfigurationmodeisrequiredforcompletinginterface‐specificconfiguration
tasks.Foranexampleofhowthesecommandsareused,referto“Pre‐RoutingConfiguration
Tasks”onpage 14‐1.
Aloopbackinterfaceisalways
expectedtobeup.Thisinterfacecanprovidethesourceaddressfor
sentpacketsandcanreceivebothlocalandremotepackets.Theloopbackinterfaceistypically
usedbyroutingprotocols.
EachSecureStackC3systemcansupportupto256routinginterfaces.Eachinterfacecanbe
configuredfortheRIPand/or
OSPFroutingprotocols.

loopbackloop‐id Specifiesthenumberoftheloopbackinterfacetobeconfiguredforrouting.
Thevalueof
loop‐idcanrangefrom0to7.
