Configuring RADIUS Authentication
IfyouplantouseaRADIUSservertoauthenticatewirelessclients,youmustidentifytheRADIUS
servertotheAP.ARADIUSservermustbespecifiedforsomeWLANservicesecurityoptions.
ThissectiondiscusseshowtoconfiguretheAPtouseRADIUSserversforauthentication.
TheAPsuppo
rtsuptotwoRADIUSserversthataresharedbyallWLANservices(SSIDs)a
primaryandsecondary(forredundancy).YoucanconfiguretheretryparametersfortheRADIUS
server.TheRADIUSclientsupports802.11v1/2authentication.
Notes:
This guide assumes that you already configured RADIUS server(s) to support the access point.
Configuration of RADIUS server software is beyond the scope of this guide. Refer to the
documentation provided with the RADIUS server software.
If you are using RADIUS, it is highly recommended that you assign the AP a static IP address to
e
nsure that the address doesn’t change via DHCP.
TodisplaytheRADIUSserverconfiguration,navigatetoConfiguration>RADIUSServers,and
selecttheRADIUSserveryouwanttoeditorselect<AddNew>toconfigureanewRADIUS
server.TheRADIUSServersconfigurationdisplaysintherightpane.
Field Description
Server Alias Enter a name that you want to assign to the RADIUS server. The
default server alias is newRadius00.
Server Address Enter the IP address of
the RADIUS server.
Shared Secret Enter the password used to validate the connection between the
AP
and the RADIUS server.
