• Alarm Impact Severity has been added to the main alarm table, and
the Impact Scope View, formerly only available in the desktop Alarm
Manager, is now available by clicking on the Impact Severity column.
• Alarm type data, including alarm name, probable cause, symptoms and
recommendations, is now presented on the alarm details page. Users
will no longer need to drill into another Web Operator Suite screen.
• User administration has been removed from the Web Operator and is
now part of the standard Spectrum User Editor - Spectrum user
administration no longer takes place from multiple areas of the system.
• Checking and messaging during install has been modified to ensure the
user is notified if they try to install Web Operator to a directory with a
space in the name. They will be prompted to select a different directory
if they try to do this.
• Page context-sensitive launch capabilities have been added to allow
users to launch into a web-based, searchable version of the SPECTRUM
Web Operator User Guide (5078).
• If BMC PatrolView Integration is in place, visibility of parameters below
applications has been enhanced by creating another link below the
Application Class that displays a view for all the parameters of each
class.
VPN Manager
• The VPN Manager is an application that is designed to allow you to
discover, model, and monitor VPNs within the network environment.
VPN Manager provides VPN and Site discovery and modeling, VPN
connectivity status, SNMP trap handling, monitoring of Virtual Routing
and Forwarding (VRF) condition, and performs calculation of and
alarming on VPN condition. VPN Manager is accessed through the
SPECTRUM One Click interface.
• The VPN Manager currently supports the IETF draft MPLS/BGP VPN MIB
(draft-ietf-ppvpn-mpls-vpn-mib-05) and Cisco’s MPLS Virtual Private
Networks MIB (MPLS-VPN-MIB). These MIBs provide access to
configuration information for VPNs configured on Provider Edge Router
(PE) interfaces. This information lets VPN Manager discover all of the PE
routers and interfaces that are forwarding traffic for a particular VPN.
Based on this discovery, SPECTRUM will create VPN models
representing each unique VPN. These VPN models can then be polled
for their current operational status (Up or Down).
