Usage
Thiscommandenablesinterfaceconfigurationmodefromglobalconfigurationmode,and,ifthe
interfacehasnotpreviouslybeencreated,thiscommandcreatesanewroutinginterface.For
detailsonconfigurationmodessupportedbytheSecureStackC3deviceandtheiruses,referto
Table 18‐2in“EnablingRouterConfigurationModes”on
page 18‐2.
VLANsmustbecreatedfromtheswitchCLIbeforetheycanbeconfiguredforIProuting.For
detailsoncreatingVLANsandconfiguringthemforIP,referto“EnablingRouterConfiguration
Modes”onpage 18‐2.
EachVLANinterfacemustbeconfiguredforroutingseparatelyusingtheinterfacecommand.
To
endconfigurationononeinterfacebeforeconfiguringanother,typeexitatthecommandprompt.
Enablinginterfaceconfigurationmodeisrequiredforcompletinginterface‐specificconfiguration
tasks.Foranexampleofhowthesecommandsareused,referto“Pre‐RoutingConfiguration
Tasks”onpage 18‐1.
Aloopbackinterfaceisalways
expectedtobeup.This interfacecanprovidethesourceaddressfor
sentpacketsandcanreceivebothlocalandremotepackets.Theloopbackinterfaceistypically
usedbyroutingprotocols,butitcanalsobe usedformanagementornetworkservicessuchas
RADIUS,SNMP,Syslog,SNTP,orsFlow.By
default,ifRADIUSisconfiguredwithnohostIP
addressonthedevice,itwillusetheloopbackinterface0IPaddress(ifithasbeenconfigured)as
itssourcefortheNAS‐IPattribute.(Administratorscanassignwheretosourcemanagementor
networkserviceIPpacketsviatheset
interfacecommands.)
EachSecureStackC3system(stack)cansupportupto24routinginterfaces.Eachint erfacecanbe
configuredfortheRIPand/orOSPFroutingprotocols.
vlanvlan‐id SpecifiesthenumberoftheVLANinterfacetobeconfiguredforrouting.
ThisinterfacemustbeconfiguredforIProutingasdescribed
in“Pre‐
RoutingConfigurationTasks”onpage 18‐1.
loopbackloop‐id Specifiesthenumberoftheloopbackinterfacetobeconfiguredforrouting.
Thevalueofloop‐idcanrangefrom0to7.
