Usage
ThiscommandallowsyoutoconfigurethesourceIPaddressusedbytheSNTPapplicationwhen
generatingpacketsformanagementpurposes.Anyofthe m anagementinterfaces,including
VLANroutinginterfaces,canbeconfiguredasthesourceIPaddressusedinpacketsgeneratedby
theSNTPclient.
Aninterfacemusthavean
IPaddressassignedtoitbeforeitcanbesetbythiscommand.
Ifnointerfaceisspecified,thentheIPaddressoftheHostinterfac e willbeused.
Ifanon‐loopbackinterfaceisconfiguredwiththiscommand,applicationpacketegressis
restrictedtothatinterfaceiftheservercan
bereachedfromthatinterface.Otherwise,thepackets
aretransmittedoverthefirstavailableroute.Packetsfromtheapplicationserverarereceivedon
theconfiguredinterface.
Ifaloopbackinterfaceisconfigured,andtherearemultiplepathstotheapplicationserver,the
outgoinginterface(gateway)isdeterminedbasedonthebest
routelookup.Packetsfromthe
applicationserverarethenreceivedonthesendinginterface.Ifrouteredundancyisrequired,
therefore,aloopbackinterfaceshouldbeconfigured.
Example
ThisexampleconfiguresanIPaddressonVLANinterface100andthensetsthatinterfaceasthe
SNTPclientsourceIPaddress.
