High-Speed Stack Connections
Theswitcheshaverear‐panelconnectorsforhigh‐speedconnectionsinastack
configuration.Thehigh‐speedstackingcablesusedfortheconnectionsareoptionalitems
andmustbeorderedseparately.Stackingcablesareavailableinthreelengths:1foot,
1meterand5meters.See“ConnectingHigh‐SpeedStacking
Cables”onpage 3‐10for
detailsonthesecables.
Redundant Power Supply Capability
Theswitchhaspowersupplyredundancycapabilitywhenconnectedtoanoptional
externalredundantpowersupply(RPS).Iftheinternalpowersupplyfails,theRPS
assumestheentireloadoftheswitchwithoutinterruptingnetworktraffic.Theinternal
powersupplyandRPSeachhavetheirownACpowerconnection,whichenables
the
connectionofeachpowersupplytoadifferentACpowercircuitforadditionalACpower
sourceredundancy.
Connectivity
TheswitchconnectstoEthernetnetworksorworkstationsviathefixedfrontpanelRJ45
connectorsandfouruplinkportsthatsupportoptionalMini‐GBICs.
Atthetimeofthisprinting,theMini‐GBICsthatareavailablefromEnterasysand
supportedbyB2switchesaredescribedinTable 1‐1onpage 1‐6.
TheseMini‐GBICsmeet
orexceedtheIEEE802.3z‐1998standard.
