Logging in with Administratively Configured Account
Ifthedevice’sdefaultuseraccountsettingshavebeenchanged,proceedasfollows:
1. Attheloginprompt,enteryouradministratively‐assignedusernameandpressENTER.
2. AtthePasswordprompt,enteryourpasswordandpressENTER.

Using a Telnet Connection
OncetheMatrixSeriesdevicehasavalidIPaddress,youcanestablishaTelnetsessionfromany
TCP/IPbasednodeonthenetworkasfollows.
1. Telnettothedevice’sIPaddress.
2. Enterlogin(username)andpasswordinformationinoneofthefollowingways:
–Ifthedevice’sdefaultloginand
passwordsettingshavenotbeenchanged,followthe
stepslistedin“LogginginwithaDefaultUserAccount”onpage 2‐7,or
–Enteranadministratively‐configuredusernameandpassword.

Note: Users with Read-Write (rw) and Read-Only access can use the set password command
(“set password” on page 2-18) to change their own passwords. Administrators with Super User (su)
access can use the set system login command (“set system login” on page 2-16) to create and
change user accounts, and the set password command to change any local account password.
