FLOORPROTECTION
•
ThiswoodstoverequiresaU.L.listed(ULCifCanada)floorprotectorwithaRfactorofnolessthan
1.0,ifthestoveistobeinstalledonacombustiblefloor. Ifthefloorthestoveis tobeinstalledon
isalreadynon‐combustible(i.e. aconcretefloorinabasement),nofloorprotectionisneeded
(althoughadecor ativefloorprotectorcanstillbeusedforaestheticreasons).

Whenusinganyfloorprotector,considerthatthisstoveisnotonlyheavybutwillinduceheating
andcoolingcyclesonthefloorprotectorwhichcandamagetileandloosenmortarand groutjoints
locatednearthestove.
•
ThefloorprotectorshouldbeULratedandlisted,orequivalent(ULCifCa nada) andmustbe
noncombustible. AhearthrugisNOTanapprovedsubstituteforaproperhearthpad.
•
FortheUS:Thefloorprotectormustextendatleast16in.fromth efrontofthefuelopening,8in.
fromthesidesofthedooropeningand8in.fromtherearoftheunit.
•
ForCanada:Thefloorprotectormustextendatleast450mmfromthefrontofthefuel
opening,
200mmfromthesidesofthedooropeningand200mmfromtherearoftheunit.
•
Thefloorprotectormustextend2in.(50.8mm.)oneithersideofanyhorizontalventingrunsand
extenddirectlyunderneathanyverticalventingpipe.
