A window appears on the RCP with the message Can not open Com Port.
--> Is the preamp switched on?
--> Is the preamp connected to the PC via a proper cord?
--> Did you configure the right Com port?
--> Is the Com port being used by some other device (for example, a mouse or
modem)?
No output signal.
--> Are all cords connected properly and are they functional?
--> Unplug any effect devices you may have connected and see if the preamp
works fine without these peripheral devices.
--> Is the connected power amp working properly?
--> Is the Master or Volume knob set to step 1? Both knobs should be set
to a value higher than step 1, otherwise the signal won't be sent to the
preamp's outs.
--> You may be looking at a faulty tube or another defect. In this case,
be sure to take the preamp to a qualified service center.
Keep the preamp safe from mechanical knocks and shocks
(those tubes are fragile!).
Let the preamp cool down before you transport it
(10 minutes or so should do).
Tubes will take some 20 seconds to warm up after
you switch the power on.
Avoid storing the preamp in damp or dusty rooms,
they are hard on jacks, switches and rotary encoders.
Make sure air can circulate at the right side and at the rear panel
of the preamp to allow for adequate cooling.
Replace tubes with select replacement tubes only
(special selection criteria) to avoid microphonics,
undesirable noise and feedback.
