14. Launching a preamp self-test.

Activate this selection routine while the preamp is in Manual mode.

Press and hold all three buttons simultaneously until the preamp switches

to Unit Check mode.

On its own, the system will set all knobs to step 11 or 12 o'clock position. It then

sweeps through the Gain control range automatically from step 1 to step 21.

Once it arrives at step 21, the system resets Gain to step 11.

The preamp goes through the same routine in turn for all knobs.

Once all knobs are reset to the center (Step 11) or 12 o'clock position, the system

activates and deactivates all sound-shaping features in the sequence in which the

are ordered on the front panel.

Note:

In this operating mode, the system dials in settings without human intervention.

For this reason, we recommend that you set a connected power amp to a very

low volume to prevent levels from getting out of hand.

Supplementary information:

You can select a specific operating mode - say, Heavy Lead (sound-shaping

buttons 12 and 13 activated) - in order to run an automatic check of its

controls by selecting the desired operating mode before starting the UNC

function. Note that once this check routine has run through all knobs, all

sound-shaping functions are deactivated before the routine begins checking

the sound-shaping buttons.

During the UNC routine, all sound-shaping functions (that means all knobs

and buttons) are disabled.
