6.2.4 Configuring PPPoE
Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) is used mainly by ISPs that provide DSL modems to connect to the Internet.
Login Enter the username assigned by an ISP.
Password Enter the password assigned by an ISP.
Service Name Enter the service name of an ISP
(optional).
MTU Enter the maximum transmission unit (MTU). The
MTU specifies the largest packet size permitted for an
internet transmission (PPPoE default: 1492). The MTU
size can be set between 512 and 1492.
Authentication Type Select the type of authentication
provided by the ISP: Auto, PAP, or CHAP. If unsure of the
best setting, select Auto.
