5.3 Using the double repeater with external antenna
Even with a single repeater installed in the installation space, it may not be possible for the
gateway to receive signal from the micro inverters. This can happen for the following reasons:
• The roof may be made out of metal, or be lined with metal foil.
• The distance between the micro inverters and the single repeater or gateway may
be too great.
• The building may have UV-screened windows.
In this case, it is necessary to install a double repeater with external antenna.
The external antenna must be mounted on the roof above any metal roof layers. It is
connected to the double repeater inside the building by a coaxial cable. The double repeater
passes the inverter signals via its normal internal antenna to the Enecsys gateway.
