Double Repeater Introduction Your solar PV (photo-voltaic) installation, when combined with an Enecsys Micro-Inverter with its in-built wireless antenna is able to communicate wirelessly with the gateway. This allows for comprehensive monitoring of the solar PV array, module-by-module. Monitoring an array module by module enables the user to see energy generation at module level. Monitoring also allows the end-user to see the performance of any module at any time of the day.
Introduction Warnings and safety information Proper care and attention should always be followed when installing and using any powered device. Ensure that power access points conform to your countries electrical standards. Install in a clean dry environment, indoors and if possible away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight. • There are no user serviceable parts inside this unit. • There are no replaceable or re-chargeable batteries contained • • • within the double-repeater.
Double Repeater Assumed level of knowledge and audience This manual contains information specific to the installation of an Enecsys double-repeater. Although the installation is simple a basic knowledge of internet routers, wired or wireless may be beneficial although not necessary. Installation of the double-repeater is a 'plug and play'. Enecsys have designed the hardware to be a simple as possible for the installer and end-user alike.
Introduction Scope of delivery The following list details the scope of delivery, please ensure that all parts are present before starting the installation. • • • • • • 1 x Double-Repeater. 1 x Fixed antenna. 1 x External antenna. 1 x Coaxial cable (with SMA connectors, variable length). 1 x Plug-top 5V DC, 1A adaptor with 2.1mm jack. 3 x Double sided adhesive pads. Double Repeater The double-repeater is designed to provide a ‘hop’ between nodes in the network.
Double Repeater When to install a double repeater Depending upon the house construction and build materials it may be necessary to add a double-repeater in order to provide stable communications between the inverters and the gateway over a long time period. A double-repeater is used in situations where a standard repeater is unable to provide the gateway with a strong sustainable communication link.

Double Repeater Installation The double-repeater is a 'plug and play' device; it is quickly and easily installed. The double-repeater should be positioned within connection distance of an AC power source. Turning off the repeater The double-repeater comes supplied with a 5V DC external power supply. The power adaptor serves as the disconnect device - a socket outlet in accordance to the national wiring codes for the country shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

Double Repeater Wall mounting the double repeater (adhesive pad method) 1. Ensure that the back-plate of the double-repeater, wall or mounting surface is clean from dust and grease. 2. Attach the antenna to the lower SMA connector on the right hand side of the double-repeater, simply screw the antenna into place in a clockwise direction. 3. Connect the 5V supplied PSU to an AC power source, wall socket. 4.
Installation Wall mounting the double repeater(screw fixed method) 1. Attach the antenna to the lower SMA connector on the right hand side of the double-repeater, simply screw the antenna into place in a clockwise direction. 2. Connect the 5V supplied PSU to an AC power source wall socket. 3.
Double Repeater Mounting with a cable tie There may be situations where it is not possible to mount the doublerepeater using the screw fixed or adhesive pad method. In these situations a cable tie can be utilized to fix the double-repeater to an internal pillar or suitable part of the internal house structure. 1. Ensure that the cable tie is of the correct width and length. 2. Run the cable tie through the cable tie cut-out on the back of the double-repeater. 3. Place the tie around the pole etc. 4.
Installation Installing the external antenna 1. Ensure that you have enough coaxial cable to reach from the mounting point to the double-repeater. 2. Secure the external antenna to the mounting rack of the solar array using two self-tapping screws. Cable ties could also be used to hold the antenna in a secure position. 3. Secure the external coaxial. 4. Feed the coaxial cable through the installed cabling conduit and into the loft space of the building. 5.
