B-2 Calculating P and L Dimensions
To determine P, you need the following:
• the pipe inside diameter (ID)
• the wall thickness (WT)
• the installed pipe coupling length (CL)
• the transducer face depth (FD)
• the mounting angle (MA)
Use Figure B-2 to properly measure the coupling length.
Typically, the transducer face is positioned just outside the inside
diameter (ID) of the pipe, or slightly retracted inside the coupling.
