6783538 Blue Error Screen Might Appear When InfiniBand PCIe ExpressModule Is
Disabled in Windows Device Manager
Issue:
If the option for the Sun Dual Port 4x QDR IB Host Channel Adapter PCIe
ExpressModule (X4219A-Z) is disabled in Windows Device Manager, Windows
Server 2008 stops and displays a Blue Screen with the following bug check 0x122
- General WHEA Error.
Affected Operating Systems and Software:
Windows Server 2008
Supplemental Software Releases 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1
Workaround:
Do not disable the option for the Sun Dual Port 4x QDR IB Host Channel
Adapter PCIe ExpressModule in Windows Device Manager. If the module is
disabled causing a Blue Screen to display, reboot the host system to recover.
The Sun Dual Port 4x QDR IB Host Channel Adapter PCIe ExpressModule will
be enabled upon reboot.
Check for the availability of a patch for this defect.
6793369 Hot-Insert Is Not Supported by Windows 2008 for Some ExpressModules
Issue:
With Windows 2008 the following ExpressModules cannot be hot-inserted:
Sun Fibre Channel - 4 Gigabit/Sec PCI-E Dual FC / Dual Gigabit Ethernet
Host Adapter ExpressModule (EM) (SG-XPCIE2FCGBE-Q-Z)
Fibre Channel - 4 Gigabit/Sec PCI-X Dual FC Host Adapter (Emulex) (SG-
XPCIE2FCGBE-E-Z)
Sun Quad Gigabit Ethernet Module (X7284A-Z)
Affected Operating Systems and Software:
Windows Server 2008
Supplemental Software Releases 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1
Workaround:
Insert the affected modules and reboot in order for them to be recognized.
