This section describes the procedures required to install the A781-200 system (SDU and SCM) on
an aircraft, including the following sections:
Advisories
Pre-Installation Inspection
Installation Procedure

Passive Intermodulation (PIM) Test
Installation and Engineering Drawings
1. Advisories
Before performing any installation procedures, read the safety advisories listed in the
Introduction on page
INTRO–4 of this manual.
2. Pre-Installation Inspection
Before installing any A781-200 system, conduct a pre-installation inspection of all parts to make
sure that no damage occurred during shipping.
A. Unpacking and Inspecting Equipment
Unpack the A781-200 equipment from the shipping containers.
Verify that the part number displayed on the shipping box and equipment component
matches the model and part number ordered. If components are missing from the
shipment, contact the supplier immediately and report the problem.
Visually inspect the A781-200 equipment for any shipping damage. If any shipping
damage has occurred, contact the shipping carrier immediately and report the
problem.
Check the A781-200 equipment connectors for corrosion and damage. If damage is
noted, do not apply power to the equipment. Contact the supplier immediately to
report the problem.
B. Cabling Notes
Before proceeding with the installation of the A781-200 system, read all cabling notes
provided on the Interconnection and Contact Assignment drawings on page
3–19.
