1.RubberTerminalProtector–Fourterminalprotectorsextend1.5inchesfromthebackplateoftheamplifiertoabsorb
shockandprotecttheterminalswhentheyareclosetoawallorothersurface.
2.NegativeSpeakerTerminals–Connectstothenegativespeakerinputs.These5waybindingpostsacceptstripped
speakerwire,bananaplugs,orspadeconnectors.Besuretoobservecorrectpolaritywhenconnectingspeakersandbesure
thatthewiresdonottouchbetweenpositiveandnegativeterminals.
WhenusingtheXPA‐1to‘bi‐wire’aspeaker,usebothnegativeandbothpositiveterminalstoconnecttothecorresponding
negativeandpositiveterminalsonyourspeakers.Inastandardwiringsituation,useonlyonenegativeterminalandone
positiveterminaltosinglenegativeandpositiveterminalsonthespeaker.
Note:Potentiallylethalvoltagespresent!Neverconnect,disconnectormodifyspeakerwiringwiththeamplifierturned
on.
3.Meter/LEDStatusSelectors–ThestatusLED(singleLEDthatlightswhentheunitison)andmeterLEDs(whichmovein
syncwiththeamplifieroutput)ontheamplifierfaceplatecanbeturnedonoroffwiththeseselectors.
4.RemoteTriggerInput/Output–TheXPA‐1canberemotelytriggeredbyanotherdevice,andinturn,remotelytrigger
anotherdevice.Whenaremotetriggeroutputfromapreamplifier,processororotheraudiodeviceisconnectedtothe
triggerinputhere,theamplifierwillpowerupandshutdownalongwiththefirstdevice.
Anotherdevice(CDplayer,amplifier,etc)canbeaddedtothischainusingthetriggeroutput.
A3.5mm,5‐12voltmonoaudiocableisusedforbothinputsandoutputs.Ifbuildingyourowncable,centerispositiveand
outershieldisnegative.
5.RCAAudioInput–ConnectstotheRCAoutputofapreamplifierorprocessor.Thisismarked‘Un‐Bal’becauseitisan
unbalancedconnection.
