3.4 Hierarchical Servers - SiteScan Web with WebCTRL
3.4.1 Target Application
In a typical application, a customer has a WebCTRL BMS system that controls the overall functions
of the facility, but now wants to monitor the data center and send notifications of event alarms to the
BMS. The main features are:
• Customer has a WebCTRL BMS system.
• Data center needs to be monitored specifically.
• BMS should receive specific alarms from the monitoring system.
3.4.2 Description
Install a SiteScan Web server in the data center with SiteGate-E and SiteLink modules to allow the
customer to monitor critical facility equipment. Set up the WebCTRL system as a hierarchical server
that receives notification of specific alarms from the SiteScan Web system.
This allows the BMS software and the monitoring system to run within their own environment. When
changes are needed in the monitoring system, the SiteScan Web system is reconfigured and the
changes are automatically updated to the WebCTRL system.
