3.2 Multiple Data Centers in the Same Building
3.2.1 Target Application
In a typical application, a customer wants to monitor two data centers in the same building but on
two different floors. The building does not easily accommodate wiring between floors. The main fea-
tures are:
• Multiple data centers in the same building
• Liebert units in all data centers
• Intranet that connects the customer’s total enterprise
3.2.2 Description
Install the SiteScan Web server in the main data center with a SiteGate-E connected to multiple
ARCnet modules. In the second data center, install another SiteGate-E connected to a second set of
ARCnet modules. This configuration allows the customer to bypass the need to hire a contractor to
pull ARCnet cabling between the different floors.
3.2.3 Sample Bill of Materials
This bill of materials includes only those products shown in Figure 2. Other modules can be added to
this system as indicated in the diagram.
