Changing the Number of Rings before Answer
Use the command SET ANSWER. Refer to "Commands" in the User Instructions (Section 5847) for further information on the use of this
command. Section 5847 can be accessed via the CD (Electronic Documentation Package) furnished with your system.
Changing the User Configurations
The user configurations can be changed by using the command SET USERS. The command is also described in "Commands" of the User
Instructions (Section 5847). Section 5847 can be accessed via the CD (Electronic Documentation Package) furnished with your system.
The command, when entered, will display a header that contains the current configuration information. Then, individually, the
commands will list each item that can be changed, showing the current information, and then prompting for new or revised information
to be entered. If the current information does not need to be changed, press
ENTER
to continue.
Command SET USERS: The various information pertaining to a user that can be changed through this command is described below. This
command is available to users programmed for access to level 6 commands.
Note:
The Operation section in the User Instructions (Section 5847) lists the MCA Interface channels. Section 5847 can be accessed via the CD
(Electronic Documentation Package) furnished with your system. Add these channels to the user group as necessary.

Which User (1 - 8):
Type the number which corresponds to the user configuration which is
to be revised, then press
ENTER

User active (Y or N):
Note:
This prompt is not displayed if the
logged on user is modifying his
own user configuration. A user
cannot de-activate his own
configuration.

if not, then press

Note:
If "N" is entered, this command terminates. If "Y" is entered, the
system allows the default configuration information of the user
to be changed as shown below.
Name:
Type the desired name for this user (30 characters maximum unless
used with TL1, then 10 characters maximum), then press
ENTER
. The
system uses this name to identify various activities of the user such as
when he accesses the system or changes a configuration of the system.
Password:
Type the desired password for the user (8 characters maximum), then
press
ENTER
. Each user is programmed with a unique password that
grants him access to a specific command level. There is no provision
for changing access levels once a person is logged on to the system.
Additionally, a user can not change his own password unless he is
programmed for access to level 6 commands.
Note:
If the user is to access LMS1000 through the TL1 port, the user’s
password must contain two non-alpha characters. One of these
must be a symbol. ([%], [#], and [+] are the only valid symbols.)
Access Level (1-6):
Note:
This prompt is not displayed if the
logged on user is modifying his
own user configuration. A user
cannot change his own access
level.
Type the desired access level (1-6) of the user, then press
ENTER
. The
access level determines which commands are available to a particular
user. Level 6 allows the user to have access to all the commands.
Callback (Y or N):
Type

if the user requires the callback feature and
N
if not, then press
ENTER
. The callback feature allows additional system security when
accessing the system via its modem. After a user calls the system and
enters his password, the system will hang-up and call the user back at
the preprogrammed designated phone number.
