Medium Consistency (MC) Pump
Valve
The medium consistency centrifugal pump (MC
pump) is used for continuously pumping pulp stock
up to 18% bone dry (BD) consistency and can be
located in numerous areas of the mill. In
processes where the flow control valve is
responsible for controlling the pumps head
pressure, special care should be given to the valve
selection.
In some cases, concerns of pulp stock flow
behavior and buildup are addressed by specifying
an expanded outlet valve. Many MC pump
manufacturer’s require expanded down stream
piping.
Design Considerations:
D Expanded Outlet
D Ball valve to shear through impurities
D Precise control
