In the power and recovery boiler, ring fuels such as coal, oil, or other waste products cause degradation of the boiler tubes. Deposits from
the combustion process can collect on the heat exchanging tubes, which reduces thermal efciency and may cause operational problems.
Sootblower valves provide steam to the sootblower system to remove deposits from the boiler tubes and must withstand high pressure, high
vibration, and thermal cycling to maintain unit efciency.
