ControlWave Micro Instruction Manual (CI-ControlWave Micro)
Revised Jun-2013 I/O Modules 3-61
3.17 IEC62591 Interface Module
The IEC62591 interface module allows your ControlWave Micro to
communicate to a network of IEC62591WirelessHART™ field devices
such as transmitters. Once you install the module and configure the
associated ControlWave project using ControlWave Designer (available
in OpenEnterprise™ Field Tools), you connect it to a Smart Wireless
Field Link so it can access the wireless network.
The IEC62591 interface module assembly consists of two printed circuit
boards; a carrier board that fits into an I/O slot in the ControlWave
backplane, and an interface board that sits on the carrier board.
When configured and activated, the system performs an auto-discovery
of wireless devices in the network, and then collects data from them into
structures within your ControlWave project.
Notes:
Your controller can only have one (1) IEC62591 interface module.
Due to mechanical restrictions, you cannot install the IEC 62591
module in the last slot of any housing.
The IEC62591 interface module is not compatible with the
ControlWave Micro I/O expansion rack.
Each field device that will be part of the wireless network must be
individually configured with a unique long tag name, and a common
network ID and common join key used for the network. Use either
the HART Device Configurator tool in OpenEnterprise™ Field
Tools software or use an Emerson 375/475 hand-held Field
Communicator to perform this configuration. For information on
Field Tools software, see the OpenEnterprise™ Field Tools
Installation and Licensing Manual (D5141).
The module is factory-configured for optimal performance. No
changes to DIP switches are required.
