Externally Sourced Transmitters
An external 24V power source is required for applications with more
than eight transmitters.
Connect the positive terminal of each transmitter to the +24V external
source (see Figure 3-34).
Connect the negative terminal of each of up to five HART multi-
dropped transmitters (or a single Bristol transmitter) to the appropriate
channel terminal on the board’s terminal block. (Also see Table 3-37
and Table 3-38 to identify channel terminals).
Connect the ISOGND terminals of TB1 and TB2 to the negative
terminal of the +24V external source.

Setting Switches
Switches SW3 and SW4 are associated with Channels 1 and 2,
respectively. By default, all channels are inputs, however, when either
or both Channel 1 and 2 are used with a non-multi-dropped HART
device, you can optionally use them as either analog inputs or, if the
HART device is not a transmitter, analog outputs.
For a Bristol transmitter (3508/3808) or a multi-dropped HART
device, all channels must be inputs.
Set the switches according to Table 3-38, below.
Note: Switches not mentioned here are for factory use only and should
not be touched.
