BP7335 Palazzo 1/9/07 9:05 AM Page 5 Electrical Requirements Ceiling Fan Procedures IMPORTANT: Your ceiling fan will not function properly, and may be damaged, if used with any wall dimmer switch or control other than the Emerson Electric Fan/Light Wall Control supplied with the fan, or an optional Emerson Electric SW110 Remote Control.
BP7335 Palazzo 1/9/07 9:05 AM Page 6 Installation of Wall Control 5. Connect the other black wire of wall control to the “load” (black) wire in wall box. Securely connect wires with wire connector supplied. 6. Screw wall control into wall box and install decorator style faceplate (included). Leave wall control in “OFF” mode until fan installation is completed. 7. Refer to page 7 to complete the ceiling fan installation.
BP7335 Palazzo 1/9/07 9:05 AM Page 7 4. Install a wall control in the wall box containing the “hot” wire first. Connect one black wire of the wall control to the “hot” wire. Securely connect wires with wire connectors supplied. 5. Connect the other black wire of the wall control to both remaining traveler wire(s) in the wall box and secure with wire connector supplied. NOTE: Retrofit 3-way installations are likely to include two traveler wires between the two wall boxes.
BP7335 Palazzo 1/9/07 FAN BLADE 9:05 AM Page 8 4. Securely connect the black wire connector of the light fitter assembly to the black motor wire connector. Securely connect the white wire of the light fitter assembly to the white motor wire (Figure 9).
BP7335 Palazzo 1/9/07 9:05 AM Page 9 7. Carefully turn the fan motor assembly upside down in preparation for hanger ball/downrod installation. Place the partially assembled fan into the top half of the styrofoam as shown in Figure 11. Do not rest fan weight on the light fitter sockets. 11. Align the clevis pin holes in the downrod with the holes in the motor coupling. Install the clevis pin and secure with the hairpin clip (Figure 13). (Pin and clip are supplied in loose parts bag.

Be sure the cover is oriented correctly, with the large opening at the top. 17. You have now completed the initial assembly of your new ceiling fan. You can now proceed with hanging and wiring your fan. DOWNROD CEILING COVER How to Hang Your Ceiling Fan COUPLING COVER ! WARNING The fan must be hung with at least 7' of clearance from floor to blades (Figure 17).
BP7335 Palazzo ! 1/9/07 9:05 AM Page 11 How to Wire Your Ceiling Fan WARNING Hanger bracket must seat firmly against outlet box. If the outlet box is recessed, remove wall board until bracket contacts box. If bracket and/or outlet box are not securely attached, the fan could wobble or fall. If you feel that you do not have enough electrical wiring knowledge or experience, have your fan installed by a licensed electrician.

Connect the green ground wires from the hanger bracket and the hanger ball to the supply ground wire (bare or green). WARNING ! Check to see that all connections are tight, including ground, and that no bare wire is visible at the wire connectors, except for the ground wire. Do not operate fan until blades are in place. Noise and fan damage could result.
BP7335 Palazzo 1/9/07 9:05 AM Page 13 How to Install Your Light Kit OUTLET BOX HANGER BRACKET CAUTION: To avoid risks of burns or other injury, assure power is off before attempting to install or replace the candelabra base bulbs. RECEIVER 1-1/4" THREADED STUDS (2) 1. Install two 60W (maximum) candelabra base bulbs (not supplied) in the sockets of the light fitter assembly (Figure 24). 2. Unscrew the decorative finial nut and threaded washer from the light fitter assembly threaded stud (Figure 24).
BP7335 Palazzo 1/9/07 9:05 AM Page 14 Operating Your Ceiling Fan 5. To turn the light on and off, press and release the LIGHT button. The light will turn on at the light level previously set (see step 4). IMPORTANT Fan installation must be completed, including the installation of the fan blades, before testing of the remote control. Your Fan/Light Wall Control (Figure 26) has full control of your fan and light. However, airflow direction is controlled by a slide switch on the switch housing. 1.

Periodic cleaning of your new ceiling fan is the only maintenance that is needed. 2. Ceiling Fan Controls (see store or catalog). 3. Blades (see store or catalog). When cleaning, use only a soft brush or lint free cloth to avoid scratching the finish.
