UMG APPLIANCE MOUNTING BRACKET
Quick Installation Guide
The following instructions will help you
rack mount your Universal Management
Gateway (UMG) appliance. Should you
require further assistance, please contact
Avocent Technical Support.

Attaching the brackets to the
appliance
Remove the four black screws from
each side of the Universal Management
Gateway appliance. Position each
bracket so it is not covering the side
vents of the appliance. Secure the
mounting brackets to the appliance using
the eight chrome screws supplied with
the appliance.

Installing the slide-rail brackets
to the rack
Loosely attach the two slide-rail brackets
to the front of the rack using the
appropriate screws for your rack.

Installing the appliance in the rack
From the rear of the rack, slide the
appliance into the same U position where
the slide rails are mounted. Ensure that
both slide rails are securely inserted into
the appliance bracket. Tighten the rack
screws for both the appliance bracket
and the slide rails.
