7. User Specific Settings
The BMDM offers user specific settings that allow control of the program and databases.
7.1. Setting User Access Rights
When using the BMDM, users log in at program start or click the red user name in the upper
left of the String Status screen, then select a new name from the login box drop-down list.
You must add users and set them up with permissions, so they can view specific strings or
program screens. You may also edit existing users' names, passwords, and rights or delete
users.
The BMDM program can have one password for system setup and another for battery setup
by selecting Default on the Setup|Security dialog box. Select User Defined to let users log in
only once to view all areas for which rights have been granted. Refer to Default Passwords.
Users are automatically logged out after one hour of inactivity. To keep the String Status
screen displayed when no user is logged in, open Setup|Preferences and select the
Show Status Screen on Waiting Login check box.
String Status > Setup|Security
The System Setup, Battery Setup, Calibration, Diagnostics, Check Setting Upload, Run
Resistance Test, Data Extraction, and Data Deletion areas of the program require assignment
of rights. To define users and permissions, at the String Status screen, select Setup|Security.

At the Security dialog box, click User Defined. On the Administrator Password box, type the
password and click OK. On the Security box, click Edit Users. The User Access Rights box
allows users to be set up and permissions set. You may also display the User Access Rights
box by selecting Setup|Edit User on String Status.
