2. determine LEFT OR RIGHT hinge: A. The storm door has been designed for either left or right hinged installation. Position the door frame in the door opening. The hinge side will be the side that is the door pivot point. Be sure the name plate bracket is facing the exterior of the door. Looking from the exterior of a home: • A right hinged door will have the handle on the left. • A left hinged door will have the handle on the right. B.
. ATTACH HINGE SIDE Z-BAR TO DOOR: A. Position door lengthwise on edge, handle side down and hinge side up. Place the hinge side Z-bar on the hinge side edge of the door as shown in the illustration. Make sure the top of the hinge is at the top of the door. Align the oval cutouts in the hinge leaf with the screws on the edge of the door. Position the hinge leaf flush with the top edge of the door and install the hinge clip to hold the hinge in place. B.
7. SECURE RAIN CAP: A. Adjust the rain cap so there is an equal gap all the way across the top of the door. EQUAL SPACE ON EACH END OF RAIN CAP SCREW #8 x 1” B. Drill two (2) 1/8” pilot holes through the remaining mounting holes and install two (2) #8 x 1” screws. EXTERIOR VIEW RAIN CAP EQUAL SPACE 8.
9. INSTALL HANDLE SET: A. Follow the instructions included in the handle set box packed with your door to install the knob and latch assembly. IMPORTANT Duplicate keys (Curtis IN-8 key blank) can be made by your nearest home improvement store or locksmith. 10. ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL SWEEP: IMPORTANT STEP 10B/C/D If applicable, remove clear protective tape from sweep. MOUNTING SLOT IMPORTANT Sweep is intentionally narrower than the door. DOOR #8 x 1/2” SCREW A.
11. INSTALL DOOR CLOSERS: IMPORTANT Make sure door will open and close freely before mounting closer at bottom of door. STEP 11B A The push button closer will be temporarily installed at the top of the door for placement/preset purposes only. FOR PLACEMENT AND PRESET PURPOSES ONLY CLOSER ROD SHORT PIN CAUTION Extending the closer rod is necessary for proper door function. If closer rod is not extended the door will not close and latch properly. EXTEND ROD 1/4” FLAT EDGE OF JAMB BRACKET B.
12. adjusting the closer: A. Unhook bottom closer by removing the pin that attaches it to the door bracket. Swing the bottom closer back out of the way. B. Open the door all the way and let it close, noting the current closing speed. C. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, turn the adjustment screw on the top closer at 1/4 turn intervals until the desired closing speed is achieved and the door latches shut completely. 1. For faster closing speed, turn adjustment screw to the left (counterclosckwise). 2.
13. LOCKING AND RELEASING THE PUSH BUTTON CLOSER: A. To Hold Door Open 1. Open door to desired position and hold it there. 2. Using a finger or foot, push down the button on closer. 3. Let go of the door. It will stay in position. B. To Release Push Button Closer and Close Door 1. Push open the door a few more inches wider than normal than its set (held-open) position. This will release the closer’s push button. 2. Let go of the door and let it close freely.
troubleshooting REMEDY Remove handle side Z-bar and reinstall according to STEP 8. Hold the door edge near the handle and flex the top or bottom of the door to the closed position while holding the opposite side stationary. If this does not correct the problem, then call the Solution Center. Loosen the top four (4) or bottom four (4) screws on the Door edge assembly screws (around Top or bottom outside latch-side edge of door 1/2 turn.

13. TRABAR Y LIBERAR EL CERRADOR DE BOTÓN PULSADOR: A. Para mantener la puerta abierta 1. Abra la puerta a la posición deseada y sosténgala allí. 2. Con el dedo o el pie, presione el botón en el cerrador. 3. Suelte la puerta. Se mantendrá en su posición. B. P ara liberar el cerrador de botón pulsador y cerrar la puerta. 1. Abra la puerta unas pulgadas más de su posición normal que de su posición ajustada (mantener abierta). Esto liberará el botón pulsador del cerrador. 2.

2. CHOIX DES CHARNIÈRES À GAUCHE OU À DROITE : A. L a contre-porte a été conçue pour être installée à gauche ou à droite. Posez le cadre de porte dans l’ouverture de la porte. Le côté des charnières CÔTÉ est celui qui permet à la porte de pivoter. Assurez-vous que le support de la CHARNIÈRES POUR plaque de nom est orienté vers l’extérieur de la porte. L’INSTALLATION DES CHARNIÈRES Lorsqu’on regarde de l’extérieur : À GAUCHE • Sur une porte avec les charnières du côté droit, la poignée se trouve à gauche.
5. FIXATION DU MONTANT EN Z CÔTÉ CHARNIÈRES SUR LA PORTE : A. P osez la porte sur le côté en orientant le côté poignée vers le bas et le côté charnières vers le haut. Placez le montant en Z côté charnières sur le bord côté charnières de la porte comme il est illustré. Assurez-vous que le haut de la charnière se trouve au haut de la porte. Alignez les découpes ovales du ventail de charnière avec les vis sur le bord de la porte.
7. FIXATION DU REJÉTEAU : A. Ajustez le rejéteau pour maintenir une distance égale le long du haut de la porte. B. Percez deux (2) avant-trous de 1/8 po en passant par les trous de montage restants et posez deux (2) vis nº 8 x 1 po. DISTANCE ÉGALE DE CHAQUE CÔTÉ DU REJÉTEAU VIS NO 8 x 1 po VUE DE L’EXTÉRIEUR REJÉTEAU DISTANCE ÉGALE 8.
9. INSTALLATION DE L’ENSEMBLE DE POIGNÉES : A. S uivez les directives qui accompagnent l’ensemble de poignées de votre porte pour installer l’ensemble poignées et verrou. IMPORTANT Vous pouvez faire tailler des doubles de vos clés (clé brute Curtis IN-8) dans la plupart des magasins de rénovation résidentielle ou chez un serrurier. 10. ASSEMBLAGE ET INSTALLATION DU COUPE-BISE : IMPORTANT ÉTAPE 10B/C/D FENTE DE MONTAGE S’il y a lieu, ôtez le ruban protecteur transparent du coupe-bise.
11. INSTALLATION DES FERME-PORTE : IMPORTANT Assurez-vous que la porte s’ouvre et se ferme bien avant d’installer le ferme-porte dans le bas de la porte. AL e ferme-porte à bouton-poussoir est temporairement installé au haut de la porte en vue du positionnement et du réglage préliminaire seulement.
12. RÉGLAGE DU FERME-PORTE : A. D écrochez le ferme-porte inférieur en retirant le goujon qui le fixe à l’attache de la porte. Repoussez le ferme-porte inférieur. B. O uvrez complètement la porte et laissez-la se fermer, tout en notant la vitesse de fermeture. C. À l’aide d’un tournevis à lame Phillips, tournez la vis de réglage du ferme-porte supérieur de 1/4 de tour à la fois jusqu’à ce que la vitesse de fermeture voulue soit atteinte et que la porte s’enclenche entièrement. 1.
13. VERROUILLAGE ET DÉGAGEMENT DU FERME-PORTE À BOUTON-POUSSOIR : A. P our garder la porte ouverte 1. Ouvrez la porte à l’angle voulu et maintenez-la ainsi. 2. Avec un doigt ou un pied, abaissez le bouton du ferme-porte. 3. Relâchez la porte. Elle demeure en place. B. P our dégager le ferme-porte à bouton-poussoir et fermer la porte 1. Ouvrez la porte de quelques pouces de plus par rapport à sa position de réglage (maintenue ouverte). Le bouton-poussoir du ferme-porte se dégage 2.
DÉPANNAGE PROBLÈME La porte se coince en position fermée par temps chaud. La porte ne repose pas à plat dans l’ouverture après l’installation. REMARQUES La distance est insuffisante entre le montant en Z côté poignée et la porte. Il faut courber la porte ou le montant de porte n’est pas de niveau ou d’aplomb. Les coins supérieurs ou inférieurs extérieurs courbent par temps très froid.
