1. Remove Refractory Brick panels from the carton and un-
wrap the packing from each panel.

If damaged, contact Sure Heat Manufacturing's Customer
Service Department to obtain replacement parts at
[phone]. Be sure to have your model number ready
when you call.

Arrange panels on top of packaging, and identify each piece
and the order of assembly. (SeeFig.15)
Check all items for any shipping damage.
Installing the Refractory
1. Determine which side on which you need the gas
connection.
2. Locate the round knock-out pattern at the bottom
of Right side or Left side brick panel. This must be
removed to allow connection.
3. Place the end of a1"diameter wood dowel or metal
pipe inside knock-out area of selected panel and
punch out entire recessed area.(See Figure 16.)
NOTE: Clear bottom hearth pannel of all debris
before installing brick panels to prevent ob-
struction.

Install 2(qty.) 1N3616 (90degree angle) Side brick
panel retainers (top and bottom) using the pro-
vided hex head screws (from hardware kit) into
the existing holes in the firebox walls.
Repeat this step for the other side brick panel.
5. Using the provided 1N3216 brick retainer (see
figure 17), retain the top of the center panel of
the brick liner (use 1 retainer on VFBC32B, and
2 on VFBC36B and VFBC42B.

4. Install refractory panels in order, starting with
rear panel,and then both side panels. Make sure
the front edge of the side panels are located be-
hind the fire brick edge brackets at the front of
the fireplace opening.
