Novoescocia® S
Installation
3/4
Some nishes of Novoescocia® S have a specic covering which protects the initial properties of
materials and objects where its applied, through the control of microbial deterioration. The technology
applied to the prole is a volatile compound resistant to high temperatures. Its ecacy extends along
the prole’s life and doesn’t suffer detriment in its activity because it’s not eliminated through daily
cleaning.
Novoescocia® S prevents, on the surface of its prole, the growth and migration of bacteria, fungi,
yeasts and molds, interfering with the gas permeability of the membrane (cellular breathing). In this way,
microorganism lose quickly its ability to grow and reproduce, producing its destruction. The probability
that microorganisms develope resistance to treatment is very low.
Novoescocia® S is effective against a large number of bacteria among which are: Legionella
neumophilia,Escherichia Coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcos Aureus (SARM), Listeria Monocytogenes,
Control of the microbial deterioration
1. Place tiles on the wall that will support the part of the prole without anchoring wing.
2. Spread a big amount of thin-set mortar on the other surface, without tiles, perpendicular to the rst
one.
3. Align the prole with the tiling and then press to make the thin-set mortar passes through the holes
on the anchoring wing.
4. Place tiles along the anchoring wing and press to achieve an optimal adhesion.
5. Finish the tiling, clean the remaining material and let dry.
*In humid environments or in direct touch with water, it is recommended to seal the joints between Novoescocias® with silicone.
In intersections it is recommendable to use the angle pieces designed for that purpose. In the case of
the internal angle, it will be necessary to cut a small section of the anchoring wing to achieve a joint
without overlaps.
To nish off the ends of the prole which are visible, you have covers available in the same nish than
Novoescocia® S.
To get a perfect nish and protection, we recommend the installation of Novolistel® 3 in external
vertical edges as a complement for these Novoescocia®. This listello is available with the same nish
than Novoescocia® with control of the microbial deterioration. The complementary angle pieces allow
its combination, guaranteeing a perfect nish in the joints, also with a nish with control of microbial
deterioration.
