1. INTRODUCTION
The intent of this manual is to present both high- and low-level configuration information to the administrative personnel
responsible for the EDACS
®
C3 Maestro
dispatch console system for the Windows NT
®
operating system. Covered topics
include general overviews on the C3 Maestro’s hardware and software, configuration and customization of its proprietary
software, and general configuration and customization information, where applicable, on the Microsoft Windows NT
operating system software.
It is assumed the user of this manual—the administrative personnel—has general background knowledge of the
C3 Maestro dispatch console. This information may be obtained by reviewing the introductory sections within the related
manuals listed in the following table.
1.1 RELATED MANUALS
In many cases, to prevent unnecessary duplication of information between applicable manuals, references are made to
information in other manuals instead of including the information in this manual. Table 1-1 which follows lists the applicable
manuals. It is recommended these manuals be available to administrative personnel during the performance of any console
configurations or customization procedures.

1.2 ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS
Administrative personnel for this product should be well-trained in dispatch console operations. They should also have
general knowledge of the Console Electronics Controller (CEC) and/or the Integrated Multisite and Console Controller (IMC)
Digital Audio Switch, its supporting equipment such as the CEC/IMC Manager and the System Manager computers, and
EDACS trunked radio systems in general. In addition, a good understanding of dispatch center customizations which may be
