3. Via one of the Sort option buttons, select the desired sorting method for the entity record listing. If Alias is selected,
the listing will display entity records sorted alphabetically by their aliases. If ID is selected, the listing will display
entity records sorted numerically by their ID (LID or GID) number. The chosen sorting method always appears in the
listing’s far left column.
4. If necessary, use the entity record listing’s scroll bar to locate the desired entity record within the list.
5. Click on the desired entity within the list. The record will highlight in the listing and the Edit text and check boxes
below the listing will update with the record’s editable data.
6. Edit the entity record as necessary by clicking in the required text boxes and typing in new record data via the PC’s
keyboard and/or by checking or unchecking the check box(es). Clearing the Privilege check box will unprivilege the
entity from the console. For a unit entity, checking Console will set the unit ID as a console.
Since each record is actually stored based upon its ID number, extreme care should be observed if changing a
record’s ID number. Entering an existing ID number and saving newly entered data (via the <Done> and <Save>
buttons) will overwrite the existing record’s data with the newly entered data.
7. Upon completing edits to the record, click the <Done> button. The listing will update accordingly.
8. As needed, repeat steps 2 through 7 for other entity records.
9. Click the <Save> command button to save changes to ENTITY.DAT.
6.2.2.11.2 Adding New Entity Records
1. If desired, exit the Configuration Editor and back-up the existing ENTITY.DAT file by copying it to a different

2. Select the entity type to be added by clicking the respective Show option button.
3. Click the <New> button.
4. As required, define a new entity record via the text and check boxes within the Edit box.
Since each record is actually stored based upon its ID number, extreme care should be observed when entering the
record’s ID number. Entering an existing record’s ID number and saving newly entered data (via the <Done> and
<Save> buttons) will overwrite the existing record’s data with the newly entered data.
5. Upon completing edits to the new record, click the <Done> button. The listing will update accordingly.
6. As needed, repeat steps 2 through 5 for other new entity records.
7. Click the <Save> command button to save changes to ENTITY.DAT.
6.2.2.11.3 Deleting Existing Entity Records

6.2.2.11.4 Privileging All Entities To The Console
To privilege all entities of the currently selected Show type to the console, click the Entity Database dialog box’s
<Privilege All> button followed by the <Save> command button. If many entities within the database are unprivileged,
backing up of the ENTITY.DAT file may be desired prior to performing this action.
