6.2.2.8.2 Configuring Preprogrammed Paging Buttons
As previously stated, preprogrammed paging button configuration involves defining each button’s properties including
the code plan type, specific code number, broadcast entity type & number, and the button text label (alias). The following
sample figure shows how the Configuration Editor’s PreProg Paging dialog box appears after several buttons have been
configured per a typical dispatch environment. Specific configuration instructions follow.
Figure 6-14 — Configuration Editor’s Prepreprogrammed Paging Button Dialog Box
(With Several Buttons Programmed on Button Group Page 1 and Button Group 1)
To configure preprogrammed paging buttons’ properties, follow this procedure:
1. If necessary, from the PreProg Paging dialog box (see Figure 6-13 or Figure 6-14), click the Group Page option
button which corresponds to the desired button group page. Two button group pages are available, each with 72
preprogrammable paging buttons.
2. Near the bottom of the dialog box, click one of the six (6) Groups select buttons which corresponds to the desired
button group. Six button groups are available on each button group page.
3. If necessary, click <Edit Button…> and enter a text label for the group select button in the small dialog box’s Label
text box. Close the small dialog box via its <OK> command button. (If desired at this time, repeat steps 2 and 3 for
the remaining Groups select buttons.)
4. Near the top of the dialog box, click one of the twelve (12) Preprogrammed Pages buttons which corresponds to
the desired button for property definition.
5. Click <Edit Button…> to open the Preprogrammed Page Button sub-dialog box. See Figure 6-15. (Alternately,
the desired button may be double-clicked to open this sub-dialog box.)
6. In the Alias text box, enter a text label/name for the button.
