AE/LZB 119 1897 R1A SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION

NOTE
Since integrated paging is a feature licensed option, configurations described in this section do not guarantee
integrated paging operations will be possible within the console application. Refer to section 6.2.7 in this manual
(page 57) for additional information on the console’s feature licensed options.
6.2.2.8.1 Background Information
Within the console application, there are a total of 144 different preprogrammed paging buttons which each may be
preprogrammed with unique paging properties. To provide quick-and-easy selection plus pre-defined grouping for paging
simulselect operations, these buttons are grouped into two (2) major groups (“group pages”) and twelve (12) sub-groups as
shown in the following table:

In the console application, button group page selection is accomplished via the flip-left and flip-right control buttons on
the console’s Preprogrammed Paging dialog box. Button group page 1 is the default selected (displayed) button group page
when the dialog box is initially opened. After the desired button group page is selected (if required), button group selection is
performed by selecting one of the six group buttons at the bottom of the dialog box (if required; the left-most button of the six
group buttons is the default selected button). Finally, the actual preprogrammed page button or buttons is/are selected from
the group of twelve buttons. If more than one button is selected, a simulselect between the paged entities (conventional
channels, trunked groups, etc.)—identified as “S5”—is created after the paging tone transmissions are complete. This paging
simulselect allows dispatch voice transmissions to follow on all entities which where paged on.
A paging simulselect is created only between entities within one button group—one group of 12 preprogrammed paging
buttons. For this reason, preprogrammed paging button configurations should be well-planned out per system requirements,
especially if dispatch voice transmissions will be necessary via the paging simulselect following multiple-entity pages
(following the creation of S5). At the console, the paging simulselect is always the fifth simulselect (S5) and it only remains
active while the Preprogrammed Paging dialog box is open.
