6.2.2.1.2 CIM Serial Link PC COM Port Number
The CIM Port option buttons provide selection for which one of the PC’s serial COM ports is utilized for the serial
interfacing with the CIM in the CEC/IMC. The factory default setting is COM3. In most cases, no changes are required to this
setting.
If the console is configured for an Enhanced Audio Enclosure audio system, the PC’s COM1 port is, by default,
automatically set for Enhanced Audio Enclosure serial interfacing. However, when the CIM Port selection is COM1, COM2
is automatically set for Enhanced Audio Enclosure serial interfacing. The currently set Enhanced Audio Enclosure port
number displays in the Audio System box. See the following section for additional details.
6.2.2.1.3 Audio System Type
Audio System option buttons are utilized to configure which audio system type the console is equipped with. Since most
console equipment packages ship from the factory with the Enhanced Audio Enclosure, EAE is the factory default setting and
in most cases no changes are ever required.
However, if the console’s audio system is the earlier-design Audio Tower, Audio Tower should be selected. Normally,
this selection is only required when an MS-DOS-based C3 Maestro console is updated to a C3 Maestro console for
Windows NT via software changes but the console’s original audio system hardware (the Audio Tower) is maintained.
If the console is not equipped with any audio system, select None. In this case, the unused serial port (typically COM2)
may be used for other purposes—for example, RAS as described in section 6.1.6 of this manual (page 24), or radio
personality programming.
6.2.2.1.4 Number Of Speakers
In the Speakers text box, enter the total number of speakers (select and unselect) which the console’s audio system is
equipped with. In the console application, this number is reflected in its Change Unselect Speaker dialog box. The valid range
is 0 — 4.
6.2.2.1.5 C3 Maestro Dispatch Keyboard Enable/Disable
If the console’s dispatch keyboard is not present or its input should be ignored, the Maestro Keyboard check box must
be cleared (not checked). The factory default setting is checked. When checked, the console processes (does not ignore) input
from the dispatch keyboard.
6.2.2.1.6 Call Director Enable/Disable
If the console’s audio system is connected to a Call Director, the Call Director check box must be checked. If not
checked, no Call Director operations from the C3 Maestro will be possible.
