4. HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Refer to the maintenance manual included with the console equipment package for console hardware installation
instructions. Specific publication numbers are shown in Table 1-1 of this manual.
5. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
5.1 WINDOWS NT
5.1.1 Software Installation/Re-Installation (if required)
Specifically, the C3 Maestro console for Windows NT requires the Workstation version of Windows NT. Microsoft
generally distributes this software on a single CD-ROM (Compact Disk Read Only Memory) with typically three (3) pre-
installation 3.5-inch floppy disks. The software is also available from Microsoft entirely on 3.5-inch floppy disks
(approximately 22 total disks). Either media may be used to perform a Windows NT Workstation software installation or re-
installation provided the required drive type is available at the PC. With a Windows NT Workstation software package,
Microsoft also includes an Installation Guide manual and a System Guide manual. Refer to these manuals if an installation or
re-installation is ever necessary. During an installation, a blank floppy disk is also required for creation of a Windows NT
“Emergency Repair disk.”
Because of its large size, the CD-ROM is the preferred installation media. At the factory, Windows NT is normally
installed on the computer’s hard disk drive using an external CD-ROM drive temporarily connected to the computer’s
Enhanced Parallel (printer) Port (EPP). Unless otherwise described elsewhere in this manual, all Windows NT-specific
settings remain per the default established by Microsoft.
5.2 C3 MAESTRO
5.2.1 Software Installation/Re-Installation (if required)
NOTE
DO NOT
use the procedures presented in the following subsections for software upgrades. Refer to the applicable
Software Release Notes for software upgrade procedures.

hard disk drive. In addition, it is also provided to the customer on two (2) 3 ½-inch floppy disks in the event a re-installation
is required. Software upgrades are also distributed via floppy disks. The installation/re-installation procedure follows. Again,
