Wiring
Once the product is mounted, you are ready to wire the device. Proper wiring, grounding and
shielding are essential for ensuring safe, immune and optimal servo performance of the drive.
The following table legend describes the wiring symbols detailed in all installation guides.
Wiring Symbol Description
Earth connection (PE)
Motor Protection Earth Connection
Metal chassis connection
Common at the Controller
Shielded cable with drain wire.
The drain wire is a non-insulated wire that is in
direct contact with the braid (shielding).
Shielded cable with drain wire significantly
simplifies the wiring and earthing.
Shielded cable braid only, without drain wire.
