Your ELF television requires little maintenance in order to provide many years of
trouble free service. Each television has been individually inspected on the production
line to ensure safe and reliable operation. However, there is the potential for the
hardware connection between the television and the support arm to become loose or
to disconnect as a result of wear and tear through ongoing uses such as frequent
adjustment of the television to alter the viewing angle or by patients using the
television as an assist in getting in or out of bed (A MISUSE OF THE TELEVISION
THAT WE STRONGLY DISCOURAGE), etc. While it is not likely, a disconnection of
the television from the support arm COULD RESULT IN A SERIOUS PERSONAL
INJURY. Therefore we STRONGLY RECOMMMEND that a visual inspection of the
connection between the television and support arm be performed on a periodic basis,
and particularly if the connection ever appears to be loose. To perform a visual
inspection simply lift the rubber liquid seal (see diagram), this will bring the 8 swivel
assembly screws into view. Should any of the screws be loose or missing the
television should be taken out of service immediately. All screws should have Loctite
applied and then re-tightened. Missing or damaged screws must be replaced. Contact
dealer for replacement screws.
