PSB 9000 2.5 kW Series
2.3.2 Preparation
Mains connection for a device with a 2.5 kW power rating is done via the included 5 pole socket on the back of the
device. Wiring of the included plug requires a 3 wire lead of suitable cross section and length. For recommendations
about cable cross section see „2.3.4. Connection to AC supply“.
The device mustn’t be operated on a standard wall socket. It requires a rigid connection to a
properly fused supply point. See section 2.3.4.5 for the reason of this requirement.
DimensioningoftheDCwiringtotheload/consumerhastoreectthefollowing:
• Thecablecrosssectionshouldalwaysbespeciedforatleastthemaximumcurrentofthe
device.
• Continuous operation at the approved limit generates heat which must be removed, as well as
voltage loss which depends on cable length and heating. To compensate for these the cable
cross section should be increased and the cable length reduced.
2.3.3 Installing the device
• Select the location for the device so that the connection to the load or external source is as
short as possible.
• Leavesucientspacebehindtheequipmentforventilation,atleast30cm(1ft).
A device in a 19” housing is designed to be installed in 19” racks or cabinets, which are either lockable or at least
haveclosabledoors.Thisisrequiredtoachieveasucientprotectionagainsttouchingpartsleadingdangerous

The device can rest on rails or a shelf. When selecting those the depth of the device and its weight must be taken
into account. The handles on the front are intended to help sliding it in or out of the cabinet. Slots on the front plate
