Configure Set Page Device (SPD) media mapping
Set Page Device (SPD) commands are instructions within PostScript, VIPP, and VPS files that specify certain
attributes of a print job.
Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This
is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier,
and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are
using, see Which version of Configure am I using? on page 27.
You can enable SPD Media Mapping to allow the Fiery Server to recognize and apply some of these attributes,
including:
•
Paper attributes (for example, Media Type and Media Color)
•
Finishing attributes (for example, stapling or folding)
•
Generic attributes (for example, number of copies)
1
From Configure, select PDL.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, click RIP and select the Set Page Device
check box instead.
2
Click SPD.
3
Select Enable Set Page Device Mapping.
4
Apply or save your changes.
Once enabled in Configure, the SPD mapping option is available in Job Properties.
