Configure native document settings
Native document conversion allows the automatic conversion and printing of Microsoft Office files (Word,
PowerPoint, and Excel).
Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This
is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier,
and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are
using, see Which version of Configure am I using? on page 27.
When a user sends these files to the Fiery Server as e-mail attachments or using the USB Media Server feature, the
Fiery Server sends them to the PrintMe server for conversion to PostScript files. The files are then printed on the
Fiery Server.
Note: Not every Fiery Server support this option.
1
From Configure, choose PDF > Native Documents.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you can find settings mentioned in this
procedure in RIP > Native Documents instead.
2
Select Enable Native Document Conversion using PrintMe.
The connection to the PrintMe server is initiated. Follow the on-screen instructions. You must enable DNS to use
this option.
3
If you want an e-mail to be sent to the administrator when the PrintMe licensing updates change, select Send
licensing updates to the Fiery administrator e-mail address.
4
Apply or save your changes.
