Configure DNS
Configure DNS settings to allow the Fiery Server to resolve a name to an IP address.
Before you begin
To allow the Fiery Server to obtain a DNS address automatically, you must first allow the Fiery Server to obtain its
own IP address automatically.
Important: There are two versions of Configure and they are specific to the Fiery Server you are connected to. This
is a combined procedure that describes what to do when connected to a Fiery Server with FS100/100Pro or earlier,
and notes about what to do with FS150/150 Pro or later. If you are not sure which version of Configure you are
using, see Which version of Configure am I using? on page 27.
1
From Configure, choose Network > Protocol > TCP/IP > DNS.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, you can find settings mentioned in this
procedure in Network > IPv4 Address instead.
2
To obtain a DNS address automatically, select Get DNS Address Automatically.
To assign DNS server IP addresses manually, clear this option.
Note: If you are connected to a Fiery Server with FS150/150Pro, set Configure DNS Server to Automatic
instead.
3
If you are manually assigning DNS server IP addresses, type the primary DNS server IP address, secondary DNS
server IP address, and domain name.
4
Apply or save your changes.
