chapter 13
subroutines
A subroutine is a cue that controls the playback of a series of recorded
cues
.
Subroutines are similar to linked cues, except that they have more
playback options
.
You can use subroutines and effects to create similar looks
.
However,
subroutines have some advantages over effects
.
Since each step of a sub-
routine is a cue with channels set at proportional levels, you can create
loops or chases with proportional looks. In an effect, channels are
assigned to steps, but no levels are assigned. Thus, all channels in a step
are at the same level. You can also create nested loops, or even use an
effect cue as a step in a subroutine.
