CloningRadio

AnewfeatureintheHorizonSeriesradiosistheabilityto“clone”oneradiotoanotherbysimplychangingtheMicroSDmemory
module.Thisfeaturewillallowthecopyofallsettingsandidentifiers(Peers,SSID,Channel,IPAddress,SerialNumber,andeven
MACAddress)fromoneradiotoanotherrad
iosothataradiocanbereplacedinthefi e ldwithnopr ogrammingrequired.The
radiodoesthisbysavingacopyofthesesettingstoamicroSDcardthatcanberemovedandplacedintoanotherHorizonSeries
radio.Bydefault,RadioCloningisenabledandallHo rizonradi
oswillhaveacompatiblemicr oSDcardpreinstalled.

Tocloneoneradi otoanother,
verifythetworadiosareofthe
samemodelandfirmwareversion.

steptoclonearadioistoremove
thefaceplatefromthefrontofthe
Horizonbyremovingthetwo5/64
hexnuts(Figure3). 



Next,locatethemicroSDcardinstalledintheradio(Figure4).Themi cr oSDcardcanbefoundbehindtheTX/RXLEDsnexttothe
rese
tswitch. The microSDcardhasalockingmechanism.ToretrievethemicroSDcard,pressin(towardsthebackoftheradio)
firmlyandthenpulloutcard.(SeeFigure4).


