INSTALLATION Caution Electrical connection If this appliance featuring magnetic door seals is to replace an older appliance having a spring lock (latch) on the door or lid, be sure to make that spring lock unusable before you discard the old appliance. This will prevent it from becoming a death-trap for a child. Before you plug the appliance into an A.C. mains supply, make sure that the voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate correspond to your home supply.
Reversing the doors Fig. 3 Before carrying out any work on the appliance, unplug it from the power socket. Remove the upper hinge (Fig. 3) and slide the top door off the middle hinge. Remove the middle hinge, turn it through 180° and refit it on the opposite side (Fig. 4) after having removed the plugs which mask the holes. The plugs must be refitted in the holes left open on the opposite side. Refit the top door and the top hinge.
OPERATION Starting-up and Temperature Regulation Important Insert the plug into the wall socket. Open the refrigerator door and turn the thermostat knob, to be found on the upper right side of the inner liner, clockwise, beyond the «O», position, to start the appliance. Temperature adjustment is obtained by turning the thermostat knob to the required setting. A medium setting is generally the most suitable.
Storage of foods in refrigerator compartment To achieve the best results with the refrigerator compartment, you should follow one or two very simple rules: Do not put warm foods or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator. Positioning the door shelves To permit storage of food packages of various sizes, the door shelves can be adjusted in height. To make these adjustments proceed as follows: Gradually pull the shelf in the direction of the arrows until it comes off, then reposition as required. Fig.
Defrosting Important Frost is automatically eliminated from the evaporator of the refrigerator compartment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use. The defrost water drains out through a trough (Fig. 10) into a special container on the back of the appliance where it evaporates. Never use knives or metal objects to scrape away the accumulated frost which might damage the cooling circuit. Clean periodically the water discharge hole in the centre of the drip collector.
MAINTENANCE Prior to undertaking any maintenance operation be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall socket as a safety precaution. Clean the interior periodically with lukewarm water and some bicarbonate of soda; the cabinet exterior with a Silicone wax spray; the condenser and the motor compressor with a brush or a vacuum cleaner. Replacing the interior light bulb (Fig. 11) The light bulb of the refrigerator can easily be reached.
